Unread gmail back after read

The eternal struggle!

Unfortunately, Gmail doesn't have a built-in feature to "unread" an email that you've already read. Once you've opened an email, it's marked as read and can't be undone.

However, there are a few workarounds to help you achieve a similar effect:

  1. Use the "Mark as Unread" button: While you can't undo a read email, you can mark it as unread again. To do this, open the email, click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner, and select "Mark as Unread". This will mark the email as unread, but it won't change the fact that you've already read it.
  2. Use a browser extension: There are several browser extensions available that can help you mark emails as unread again. For example, you can try "Unread Gmail" or "Mark as Unread" extensions. These extensions can add a button to your Gmail interface that allows you to mark an email as unread.
  3. Use a third-party email client: If you're using a third-party email client like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird, you might be able to mark an email as unread again. Check your client's settings or documentation to see if this is possible.
  4. Use a label or filter: You can create a label or filter in Gmail to mark emails as "unread" based on specific criteria. For example, you can create a label called "Unread" and apply it to emails that you want to mark as unread. This won't change the fact that you've already read the email, but it can help you keep track of which emails you want to revisit.

Keep in mind that these workarounds might not be perfect, and you might need to use a combination of methods to achieve the desired result.
