Large Envelopes (Flat Rate Envelopes):
- Length: 12 inches (30.48 cm) to 15 inches (38.1 cm)
- Height: 12 inches (30.48 cm) to 15 inches (38.1 cm)
- Thickness: 0.007 inch (0.18 mm) to 0.25 inch (6.35 mm)
Specialty Envelopes:
- Square Envelopes: 6 inches (15.24 cm) to 12 inches (30.48 cm) on each side
- Triangular Envelopes: 6 inches (15.24 cm) to 12 inches (30.48 cm) on the longest side
Additional Requirements:
- Envelopes must be able to be sealed by a standard adhesive.
- Envelopes must be able to withstand normal handling and processing.
- Envelopes must not be excessively fragile or prone to tearing.
- Envelopes must not have any sharp edges or points that could cause injury.
Exceptions:
- Some specialty envelopes, such as those used for certified mail or registered mail, may have slightly different size limits.
