Us mail redirect

The United States Postal Service (USPS) offers a service called "USPS Mail Forwarding" or "USPS Address Change" that allows you to redirect your mail to a new address. Here's how it works:

Why would you need to redirect your mail?

You might need to redirect your mail if:

  1. You're moving to a new home or apartment.
  2. You're traveling or living abroad for an extended period.
  3. You're experiencing a change in your address due to a divorce, separation, or other life event.
  4. You're a business owner and need to redirect your business mail.

How to redirect your mail:

To redirect your mail, you'll need to fill out a change of address form (PS Form 3575) and submit it to the USPS. You can do this online, by phone, or in person at a local post office.

Online:

  1. Go to the USPS website (www.usps.com).
  2. Click on "Move" and then "Change Your Address."
  3. Fill out the online form with your old and new addresses.
  4. Pay the required fee (currently $1.05 for online submissions).

By Phone:

  1. Call the USPS at 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777).
  2. Follow the prompts to change your address.
  3. Provide your old and new addresses.
  4. Pay the required fee (currently $1.05).

In Person:

  1. Visit your local post office.
  2. Fill out the change of address form (PS Form 3575) with your old and new addresses.
  3. Pay the required fee (currently $1.05).

What happens after you redirect your mail:

After you submit your change of address form, the USPS will:

  1. Update your address in their database.
  2. Forward your mail to your new address for a period of 12 months.
  3. Provide you with a confirmation letter and a new address label.

Important notes:

Remember to update your address with all relevant parties to avoid any disruptions to your mail service.
