Usps hold mail end date
The USPS (United States Postal Service) offers a "Hold Mail" service that allows you to temporarily suspend mail delivery to your address while you're away. Here's how to use it:
How to Hold Mail:
- Go to the USPS website (www.usps.com) and sign in to your account.
- Click on "Hold Mail" under the "Mail & Ship" tab.
- Enter your address and the dates you'd like to hold your mail (up to 30 days).
- Confirm your request and you'll receive a confirmation email.
Hold Mail End Date:
When you request to hold your mail, you'll need to specify an end date for the hold. This is the date when you want the USPS to resume delivering your mail.
Automatic End Date:
If you don't specify an end date, the USPS will automatically hold your mail for 30 days. After 30 days, your mail will be delivered as usual.
Changing the End Date:
If you need to change the end date of your hold, you can do so by:
- Signing in to your USPS account online.
- Clicking on "Hold Mail" under the "Mail & Ship" tab.
- Updating the end date and confirming your changes.
Important Notes:
- You can only hold mail for a maximum of 30 days at a time.
- If you're holding mail for an extended period, you may need to contact your local post office to request an extension.
- The USPS will not hold packages or packages with perishable items.
- If you're holding mail and then move to a new address, you'll need to update your address with the USPS to ensure your mail is forwarded to your new location.
