Job Summary:

The Mail Handler is responsible for sorting, processing, and delivering mail and packages to customers in a timely and efficient manner. This is a physically demanding job that requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sort and process mail and packages according to USPS procedures and regulations
• Load and unload mail and packages from trucks and containers
• Use hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment to move mail and packages
• Sort and bundle mail and packages by zip code, street, and other criteria
• Use scanners and other technology to track and manage mail and packages
• Deliver mail and packages to customers, including residential and commercial addresses
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the mailroom and delivery area
• Follow safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries
• Meet productivity and quality standards, including accuracy and timeliness
• Work in a team environment to achieve goals and objectives

Physical Demands:

• Lift and carry mail and packages weighing up to 70 pounds
• Stand for long periods of time and walk for extended distances
• Bend, stoop, and kneel to load and unload mail and packages
• Use hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment to move mail and packages
• Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
• Ability to lift and carry mail and packages weighing up to 70 pounds
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk for extended distances
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
• Ability to follow safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries
