Usps on hold mail
The convenience of USPS's Hold Mail service!
If you're going to be away from your mailbox for an extended period, you can request the United States Postal Service (USPS) to hold your mail until you return. Here's how:
Online Request:
- Go to the USPS website (www.usps.com).
- Click on "Hold Mail" under the "Quick Tools" section.
- Enter your mailing address and the dates you'd like to hold your mail.
- Confirm your request.
Phone Request:
- Call the USPS Customer Service number at 1-800-275-8777.
- Tell the representative that you'd like to request Hold Mail service.
- Provide your mailing address and the dates you'd like to hold your mail.
- Confirm your request.
In-Person Request:
- Visit your local post office.
- Inform the postal clerk that you'd like to request Hold Mail service.
- Provide your mailing address and the dates you'd like to hold your mail.
- Confirm your request.
How it works:
When you request Hold Mail, the USPS will suspend mail delivery to your address for the specified period. Your mail will be held at the local post office, and you can pick it up when you return.
Important notes:
- You can request Hold Mail up to 30 days in advance.
- You can only hold mail for a maximum of 30 days.
- If you're holding mail for an extended period, you may need to provide a forwarding address for any mail that arrives during that time.
- If you're holding mail for a vacation, you may want to consider setting up a mail forwarding service to receive any important mail or packages.
By requesting Hold Mail, you can ensure that your mail is safe and secure while you're away, and you won't have to worry about missed deliveries or lost mail.
