Uta email setupvpn

To set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network) on your UTA (University of Texas at Arlington) email account, you'll need to follow these steps:

Before setting up your VPN, you need to enable 2FA on your UTA email account. To do this:

  1. Log in to your UTA email account.
  2. Click on your profile picture or initials in the top right corner, then select "Account" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Scroll down to the "Security" section and click on "Two-Factor Authentication".
  4. Follow the prompts to enable 2FA using an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.

Step 2: Install the UTA VPN Client

To connect to the UTA VPN, you'll need to install the UTA VPN client on your device. You can download the client from the UTA IT website:

  1. Go to the UTA IT website (www.uta.edu/it).
  2. Click on "Services" and then "VPN" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click on "Download VPN Client" and select the client that matches your device type (Windows, macOS, or mobile).
  4. Follow the installation prompts to install the client on your device.

Step 3: Configure the UTA VPN Client

Once the client is installed, you'll need to configure it to connect to the UTA VPN. To do this:

  1. Launch the UTA VPN client on your device.
  2. Enter your UTA email address and password in the login fields.
  3. Select the "UTA VPN" connection profile.
  4. Click "Connect" to establish the VPN connection.

Step 4: Verify Your Connection

To verify that your VPN connection is working, you can check your IP address:

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to a website that displays your IP address (e.g., whatismyip.com).
  2. Verify that your IP address has changed to a UTA IP address (e.g., 128.199.x.x).

That's it! You should now be connected to the UTA VPN using your UTA email account. If you encounter any issues or have questions, you can contact the UTA IT Help Desk for assistance.
