Verizon email to text
Verizon offers a feature called "Email to Text" that allows you to send an email to a phone number and have it converted to a text message. Here's how it works:
How to send an email to text on Verizon:
- Make sure you have a Verizon email account (such as @verizon.net) and a Verizon phone plan that includes text messaging.
- Compose an email to the phone number you want to send the text to. The phone number should be in the format of 123-456-7890.
- In the subject line, type "txt" (without quotes) to indicate that you want to send a text message.
- In the body of the email, type your message as you would a regular text message.
- Send the email.
How it works:
When you send an email to a phone number, Verizon's system will automatically convert the email to a text message and send it to the recipient's phone. The recipient will receive the text message as if it were sent from a regular text message.
Tips and limitations:
- The recipient must have a Verizon phone plan that includes text messaging to receive the email-to-text message.
- The email-to-text feature is only available for sending text messages to phone numbers, not to other email addresses.
- The subject line must contain the word "txt" (without quotes) to indicate that you want to send a text message.
- The body of the email should be kept brief, as it will be converted to a standard text message with a 160-character limit.
- Email-to-text messages are subject to Verizon's standard text messaging rates and fees.
Alternative methods:
If you don't have a Verizon email account or prefer not to use the email-to-text feature, you can also send text messages using other methods, such as:
- Using the Verizon Messages app on your phone
- Sending a text message from your phone's messaging app
- Using a third-party messaging app that supports text messaging
