What does cc in mail means

In email, "CC" stands for "Carbon Copy". It's a way to send a copy of an email to one or more recipients, in addition to the primary recipient(s) specified in the "To" field.

When you CC someone, they receive a copy of the email, but they are not the primary recipient. The primary recipient is usually the person or group of people you are addressing the email to, as specified in the "To" field.

Here are some common uses of CC:

  1. Informing others of a conversation: You might CC a colleague or manager to keep them informed about a conversation or decision you're making.
  2. Requesting input or feedback: You might CC someone who needs to provide input or feedback on a topic, but isn't the primary recipient.
  3. Keeping a record: You might CC someone to keep a record of a conversation or decision, even if they're not directly involved.

When you CC someone, they will receive a copy of the email, but they won't be able to reply to the email directly. If they want to respond, they'll need to reply to the original sender.

In contrast, the "BCC" (Blind Carbon Copy) field is used to send a copy of an email to someone without revealing their email address to the other recipients.
