What happened to my contacts in yahoo mail

Frustrating!

If you're missing contacts in your Yahoo Mail account, there could be several reasons for this. Let's troubleshoot together:

  1. Check your contact folders: Make sure you're not missing contacts because they're stored in a different folder. You can check your contact folders by following these steps:
    • Log in to your Yahoo Mail account.
    • Click on the "Contacts" tab.
    • Click on the "All Contacts" folder.
    • If you have multiple contact folders, check each one to see if your contacts are there.
  2. Check your email filters: Yahoo Mail's filters might be moving your contacts to a different folder or deleting them. To check your filters:
    • Log in to your Yahoo Mail account.
    • Click on the "Settings" icon (represented by a gear) in the top right corner.
    • Click on "More Settings" and then "Filters".
    • Check if you have any filters set up that might be affecting your contacts.
  3. Check your contact import/export settings: If you've imported contacts from another email provider or exported them to a file, it's possible that the import/export process didn't complete successfully. To check your import/export settings:
    • Log in to your Yahoo Mail account.
    • Click on the "Settings" icon (represented by a gear) in the top right corner.
    • Click on "More Settings" and then "Contacts".
    • Check the "Import/Export" section to see if there are any issues with your contact import/export settings.
  4. Check for duplicate contacts: If you have duplicate contacts in your account, it's possible that some of them might be getting deleted or moved to a different folder. To check for duplicate contacts:
    • Log in to your Yahoo Mail account.
    • Click on the "Contacts" tab.
    • Click on the "Merge" button next to the contact list.
    • Follow the prompts to merge duplicate contacts.
  5. Contact Yahoo Mail support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you can contact Yahoo Mail support for further assistance. They can help you troubleshoot the problem and potentially recover your missing contacts.

Remember to always keep a backup of your contacts, either by exporting them to a file or using a third-party contact manager. This way, you'll have a copy of your contacts in case something goes wrong.
