What is hotmail
Hotmail is a free web-based email service that was launched in 1996 by Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith. It was one of the first free web-based email services and quickly gained popularity due to its ease of use and accessibility.
Hotmail was acquired by Microsoft in 1997 for $400 million and became a subsidiary of the company. In 2012, Microsoft rebranded Hotmail as Outlook.com, and the service was integrated with Microsoft's Outlook email client.
Hotmail was known for its simplicity and ease of use, allowing users to create an email account with a simple sign-up process and access their email from any internet-connected device. It also offered features such as:
