What is hotmail smtp server and port
Hotmail, now known as Outlook.com, uses the following SMTP server and port settings:
SMTP Server: smtp.outlook.com
SMTP Port: 587
(or 25
for legacy connections)
Authentication: You need to use your Outlook.com email address and password to authenticate with the SMTP server.
Note: If you're using a third-party email client or app, you may need to use the following settings:
smtp.office365.com
as the SMTP server (this is the same assmtp.outlook.com
)587
as the SMTP port- Your Outlook.com email address and password for authentication
Additional Tips:
- Make sure to enable less secure apps in your Outlook.com account settings if you're using a third-party email client or app.
- If you're having trouble sending emails, try using the
smtp.office365.com
server instead ofsmtp.outlook.com
. - If you're using a legacy email client or app that only supports SMTP port 25, you can use that port instead of 587. However, keep in mind that using port 25 may not be secure and may be blocked by some networks.
I hope that helps!
