Where are windows live mail contacts stored

Windows Live Mail (WLM) contacts are stored in a file called Windows Live Contacts.wlcontact on your computer. This file is typically located in the following directories:

Note that the exact location may vary depending on your Windows version and configuration.

The Windows Live Contacts.wlcontact file is a binary file that contains the contact information, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, and other details. You can open this file in a text editor or a hex editor to view the contents, but be careful not to modify it, as this may cause issues with your WLM contacts.

Alternatively, you can also export your WLM contacts to a CSV file, which can be imported into other email clients or contact managers. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Open Windows Live Mail.
  2. Click on the "Contacts" button in the top menu bar.
  3. Click on "Export" and select "Export to CSV".
  4. Choose a location to save the file and click "Save".

The exported CSV file will contain the contact information in a format that can be easily imported into other applications.
