By default, macOS Mail app saves emails in the following locations:
For IMAP accounts:
~/Library/Mail/V2/Mailboxes
(for IMAP accounts, such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook.com)~/Library/Mail/V2/Local Mailboxes
(for local IMAP accounts, such as iCloud or Exchange)
For POP accounts:
~/Library/Mail/V2/POP Mailboxes
(for POP accounts, such as AOL or Hotmail)
For Exchange accounts:
~/Library/Mail/V2/Exchange Mailboxes
(for Exchange accounts, such as Microsoft Exchange or Office 365)
For local accounts:
~/Library/Mail/V2/Local Mailboxes
(for local accounts, such as iCloud or Exchange)
Note that these locations are specific to the user account you're using to access Mail. If you have multiple user accounts on your Mac, each account will have its own set of email folders saved in these locations.
Also, keep in mind that these locations are subject to change with each new version of macOS and Mail app. If you're concerned about the location of your emails, you can always check the Mail app's preferences or settings to see where your emails are being saved.
