- Check with your state's tax authority for the mailing address. You can find the contact information for your state's tax authority by visiting the Federation of Tax Administrators website or searching online for "state tax authority" along with your state's name.
Additional Tips:
- Make sure to sign and date your tax return before mailing it.
- Use a certified mail receipt to track your return and ensure it's received by the IRS.
- If you're mailing a payment with your return, use a separate envelope and make sure to include the payment voucher (Form 1040-V) if required.
- If you're experiencing issues with your return, you can contact the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 or visit their website at irs.gov.
Remember to keep a copy of your tax return and supporting documents for your records.
