Window live mail setting
Here are the settings for Windows Live Mail:
Account Settings
- Account Name: Enter a name for your account, such as "Personal" or "Work".
- Email Address: Enter your email address, such as "[email protected]".
- Password: Enter your email password.
- Server Settings:
- Incoming Mail Server: Enter the incoming mail server, such as "imap-mail.outlook.com" for Hotmail or "imap.gmail.com" for Gmail.
- Outgoing Mail Server: Enter the outgoing mail server, such as "smtp-mail.outlook.com" for Hotmail or "smtp.gmail.com" for Gmail.
- Port: Enter the port number, such as 993 for IMAP or 587 for SMTP.
- Security Settings:
- Use SSL: Check this box to use SSL encryption for your email account.
- Use Authentication: Check this box to use authentication for your email account.
Advanced Settings
- Leave a copy of messages on the server: Check this box to leave a copy of your emails on the server.
- Delete messages from the server: Check this box to delete messages from the server after downloading them to your computer.
- Check for new messages every: Set the interval at which Windows Live Mail checks for new messages, such as every 5 minutes.
Other Settings
- Default Font: Set the default font for your emails.
- Default Font Size: Set the default font size for your emails.
- Signature: Set your email signature, which will be added to the end of your emails.
Tips
- Make sure to enter the correct server settings for your email provider.
- If you're using a POP3 account, you may need to set the "Leave a copy of messages on the server" option to "No" to avoid duplicate emails.
- If you're using a IMAP account, you may need to set the "Delete messages from the server" option to "No" to avoid deleting emails from the server.
- You can also set up multiple email accounts in Windows Live Mail by clicking on "File" > "Add Account" and following the same steps as above.
