Windows live mail bigpond settings

A blast from the past! Windows Live Mail was a popular email client in the early 2000s, and BigPond was a popular internet service provider in Australia. Here are the settings you need to configure Windows Live Mail to connect to BigPond:

Step-by-Step Configuration:

  1. Open Windows Live Mail and go to "Tools" > "Accounts" > "Add a new email account".
  2. Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click "Next".
  3. Choose "POP3" or "IMAP" as the account type and click "Next".
  4. Enter the following settings:
    • Your Name: Your name as you want it to appear in the "From" field.
    • Email Address: Your BigPond email address (e.g., [yourname]@bigpond.com).
    • Account Type: POP3 or IMAP.
    • Incoming mail server: mail.bigpond.com.
    • Incoming port: 110 (POP3) or 995 (SSL/TLS).
    • Outgoing mail server: mail.bigpond.com.
    • Outgoing port: 25 (SMTP) or 587 (TLS).
  5. Click "Next" and then "Finish" to complete the setup.
