To add the Windows Live Mail desktop icon back, you can follow these steps:

Method 1: Using the Windows Live Essentials installer

  1. Download the Windows Live Essentials installer from Microsoft's website.
  2. Run the installer and follow the prompts to install Windows Live Essentials.
  3. During the installation process, you'll be given the option to install Windows Live Mail. Make sure to select this option.
  4. Once the installation is complete, you should see the Windows Live Mail desktop icon on your desktop.

Method 2: Manually creating a shortcut

  1. Open File Explorer and navigate to the following directory: C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Mail
  2. Right-click on the wlmail.exe file and select "Create shortcut".
  3. Name the shortcut "Windows Live Mail" or any other name you prefer.
  4. Right-click on the shortcut and select "Pin to Taskbar" or "Pin to Start" to add it to your taskbar or start menu.
  5. You can also drag and drop the shortcut to your desktop to create a desktop icon.

Method 3: Using a third-party icon pack

  1. Search for "Windows Live Mail icon pack" online and download a reputable icon pack.
  2. Extract the icon pack to a folder on your computer.
  3. Right-click on the extracted folder and select "Create shortcut".
  4. Name the shortcut "Windows Live Mail" or any other name you prefer.
