Yahoo mail nz yahoo xtra
A blast from the past!
Yahoo! Mail NZ and Yahoo! Xtra were popular email services in New Zealand, operated by Yahoo! and Telecom New Zealand (now Spark New Zealand) respectively.
Here's a brief history:
- Yahoo! Mail NZ: Launched in 2001, Yahoo! Mail NZ was a free email service provided by Yahoo! to New Zealand users. It was a popular choice for Kiwis, offering a range of features, including email, calendar, and contacts management.
- Yahoo! Xtra: In 2004, Telecom New Zealand (now Spark New Zealand) partnered with Yahoo! to launch Yahoo! Xtra, a rebranded version of Yahoo! Mail NZ. Yahoo! Xtra offered additional features, such as online storage, virus scanning, and spam filtering.
In 2013, Yahoo! announced that it would be discontinuing Yahoo! Mail NZ and Yahoo! Xtra, citing a decline in usage and a shift towards mobile devices. The services were eventually shut down in 2014.
Today, many New Zealanders have migrated to other email services, such as Gmail, Outlook, or Spark's own email services. However, some nostalgic users may still remember the good old days of Yahoo! Mail NZ and Yahoo! Xtra!
