A blast from the past!

ActCom Webmail was a web-based email service provided by Cox Communications, a cable and internet service provider in the United States. The service was launched in the late 1990s and was popular among Cox Internet customers.

Here are some key features of ActCom Webmail:

  1. Web-based access: ActCom Webmail allowed users to access their email accounts from any internet-connected device with a web browser.
  2. Cox Internet integration: ActCom Webmail was tightly integrated with Cox Internet, allowing users to manage their email accounts alongside their internet services.
  3. POP3 and IMAP support: ActCom Webmail supported both POP3 (Post Office Protocol version 3) and IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) protocols, allowing users to access their email accounts from multiple devices.
  4. Spam and virus protection: ActCom Webmail included built-in spam and virus protection to help keep users' inboxes clean and secure.
  5. Customizable interface: Users could customize the ActCom Webmail interface to suit their preferences, including changing the layout, font sizes, and colors.

In 2011, Cox Communications announced that it would be discontinuing ActCom Webmail and replacing it with a new email service called Cox Webmail. The new service offered many of the same features as ActCom Webmail, but with a more modern and user-friendly interface.

Today, Cox Webmail is still available to Cox Internet customers, offering a range of features including email, calendar, contacts, and more. However, ActCom Webmail is no longer supported or available for new users.
