A blast from the past!

Adam Internet was an Australian internet service provider that operated from 1993 to 2012. During its heyday, it was one of the largest ISPs in Australia.

The Adam Internet webmail service was a popular email service that allowed users to access their email accounts online. Like many webmail services of the time, it was prone to spam and phishing attacks.

To combat these issues, Adam Internet implemented a basic spam filter to help protect its users' inboxes. The filter used a combination of techniques, including:

  1. Keyword filtering: The filter looked for specific keywords and phrases commonly used in spam emails.
  2. IP blocking: The filter blocked emails from known spamming IP addresses.

In 2012, Adam Internet was acquired by iiNet, another Australian ISP. The Adam Internet brand was eventually phased out, and iiNet continued to operate the webmail service. However, the spam filter was likely upgraded and improved over time to better protect users' inboxes.
