App password for yahoo mail

A blast from the past!

Yahoo Mail still uses a feature called "App Password" to allow third-party apps to access your account securely. Here's how to generate an App Password for Yahoo Mail:

Step 1: Go to the Yahoo Account Security page

  1. Sign in to your Yahoo account.
  2. Click on your profile picture or avatar in the top right corner.
  3. Click on "Account Info" from the dropdown menu.
  4. Scroll down to the "Account Security" section.
  5. Click on "Generate App Password".

Step 2: Create a new App Password

  1. Enter a name for your app (e.g., "Email Client" or "My App").
  2. Choose a password length (between 8 and 32 characters).
  3. Click "Generate" to create the App Password.

Step 3: Use the App Password

  1. Enter the App Password in your email client or app when prompted.
  2. Make sure to save the App Password securely, as you won't be able to retrieve it later.

Important notes:

By using an App Password, you're adding an extra layer of security to your Yahoo Mail account, making it more difficult for unauthorized apps or devices to access your account.
