Apple mail autofill wrong address

The frustration of autofill gone wrong!

If Apple Mail is autofilling the wrong address, here are some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the issue:

  1. Check your Contacts app: Ensure that the contact with the incorrect address is not duplicated or has been incorrectly synced. Try deleting the duplicate contact or updating the contact information in the Contacts app.
  2. Clear Autofill data: Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup, and toggle off "Autofill" under "Advanced". Then, restart your device and re-enable Autofill.
  3. Reset Autofill settings: Go to Settings > [your name] > Passwords & Autofill, and toggle off "Autofill" under "Advanced". Then, restart your device and re-enable Autofill.
  4. Check your Mail settings: Go to Settings > Mail, and ensure that "Autofill" is enabled under "Compose & Reply". If it's not enabled, toggle it on.
  5. Update your Contacts app: Make sure you're running the latest version of the Contacts app. Go to the App Store, search for "Contacts", and update if necessary.
  6. Check for duplicate contacts: Sometimes, duplicate contacts can cause issues with autofill. Try merging duplicate contacts or deleting the duplicate contact.
  7. Reset your Mail app: Go to Settings > [your name] > Mail, and toggle off "Mail" under "Show as Folders". Then, restart your device and re-enable Mail.
  8. Check for conflicts with other apps: If you're using other apps that also use autofill, try closing those apps or disabling their autofill features to see if it resolves the issue.
  9. Reset your device: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting your device to its factory settings. This will erase all your data, so be sure to back up your device before doing so.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to consider reaching out to Apple Support for further assistance.
