Apple mail default email account

By default, Apple Mail on a Mac or iOS device uses the iCloud email account associated with your Apple ID. If you don't have an iCloud email account, or if you want to use a different email account as your default account, you can follow these steps:

On a Mac:

  1. Open Apple Mail on your Mac.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences."
  3. Click on the "Accounts" tab.
  4. Select your email account from the list of accounts on the left side of the window.
  5. Click on the "Default Account" dropdown menu and select the account you want to use as your default account.

On an iOS device:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device.
  2. Tap on "Mail" and then tap on "Accounts."
  3. Tap on the email account you want to use as your default account.
  4. Tap on "Default Account" and select the account you want to use as your default account.

Alternatively, you can also set a default email account from the Mail app on your iOS device:

  1. Open the Mail app on your iOS device.
  2. Tap on the "Mailboxes" tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap on "Edit" in the top right corner of the screen.
  4. Tap on the "Default Account" dropdown menu and select the account you want to use as your default account.

Note that if you have multiple email accounts set up on your device, you can switch between them by tapping on the account name at the top of the Mail app screen.
