- Click on "Mail & Parcels" and then "Hold Mail".
- Fill in the required details, including your name, address, and the dates you want to hold your mail.
- Choose the post office or designated address where you want to hold your mail.
- Confirm your request and pay any applicable fees (if you're not already a registered user).
Fees:
- There is no fee for holding your mail for up to 14 days.
- For holding your mail for 15-30 days, the fee is $2.50.
- For holding your mail for 31-60 days, the fee is $5.00.
- For holding your mail for 61 days or more, the fee is $10.00.
What happens to your mail:
- When you request Hold Mail, Australia Post will hold your mail at the designated post office or address for the specified period.
- During this time, your mail will not be delivered to your usual address.
- If you need to access your held mail, you can visit the post office or designated address during business hours.
- If you're unable to collect your mail, it will be returned to the sender or disposed of after the specified period.
Tips:
- Make sure to request Hold Mail at least 5 business days before you leave to ensure your mail is held.
- If you're holding your mail for an extended period, you may want to consider redirecting your mail to a trusted friend or family member.
- If you're holding your mail at a post office, be sure to collect it before the post office closes, as uncollected mail may be returned to the sender or disposed of.
By using Australia Post's Hold Mail service, you can ensure your mail is safe and secure while you're away, and you can collect it when you return.
