Automatic deleted junk mail messages in hotmail

The never-ending battle against junk mail!

Hotmail (now Outlook.com) has a built-in feature to help you manage junk mail, also known as spam. Here's how to set it up:

Automatic filtering:

  1. Log in to your Hotmail account.
  2. Click on the gear icon () in the top right corner and select "More mail settings" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Scroll down to the "Junk email" section.
  4. Under "Automatic filtering," select the option "Enable automatic filtering" to turn it on.
  5. You can also choose to "Mark as junk" or "Delete" messages that are automatically filtered as spam.

Safe Senders and Blocked Senders lists:

  1. In the same "Junk email" section, you'll see options to manage your Safe Senders and Blocked Senders lists.
  2. Add the email addresses of people you trust to your Safe Senders list to ensure their emails don't get marked as spam.
  3. Add the email addresses of spammers or unwanted senders to your Blocked Senders list to prevent them from sending you emails.

Reporting junk mail:

  1. If you receive a message that's not marked as spam but is still unwanted, you can report it as junk mail.
  2. Click on the "Junk" button in the top right corner of the message.
  3. Select "Report as junk" and follow the prompts to confirm.
