Title: "Time for action on climate change"

Date: May 8, 2017

Author: Cathy McGowan, Federal Member for Indi

As the Federal Member for Indi, I am deeply concerned about the impact of climate change on our region. The recent report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) highlights the urgent need for action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and transition to a low-carbon economy.

The IPCC report makes it clear that the window for action is rapidly closing. We must take immediate and decisive action to reduce emissions and adapt to the changing climate. This requires a comprehensive and coordinated approach, involving all levels of government, industry, and the community.

As a representative of the people of Indi, I am committed to working with my colleagues in Parliament to address this critical issue. I will continue to push for policies that support the transition to a low-carbon economy, such as increasing investment in renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, and promoting sustainable land use practices.

I urge all Australians to join me in calling for urgent action on climate change. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and future generations to take action now.
