Bulk mail rates vary depending on the type of mail, weight, and destination. Here are some general rates for bulk mail in the United States:
First-Class Mail
- Letters (1 oz or less): $0.55 per piece
- Flats (1 oz or less): $0.92 per piece
- Parcels (1 oz or less): $3.50 per piece
Standard Mail
- Letters (1 oz or less): $0.24 per piece
- Flats (1 oz or less): $0.24 per piece
- Parcels (1 oz or less): $2.75 per piece
Periodicals
- Letters (1 oz or less): $0.24 per piece
- Flats (1 oz or less): $0.24 per piece
- Parcels (1 oz or less): $2.75 per piece
Non-Profit Mail
- Letters (1 oz or less): $0.24 per piece
- Flats (1 oz or less): $0.24 per piece
- Parcels (1 oz or less): $2.75 per piece
Bulk Mail Discounts
- Presort discounts: 2-5% off standard rates for presorting mail at a USPS-approved facility
- Automation discounts: 5-10% off standard rates for using automated mail processing equipment
- Destination-based discounts: 1-5% off standard rates for mail sent to specific zip codes or regions
Minimum and Maximum Weights
- Minimum weight: 1 oz (28.35 grams)
- Maximum weight: 70 lbs (31.75 kg) for parcels, 15 lbs (6.8 kg) for flats
Additional Fees
- Postage due: $0.30 per piece for unpaid postage
- Return to sender: $0.30 per piece for undeliverable mail
- Address correction: $0.10 per piece for corrected addresses
