Can't delete emails in windows live mail

Frustrating! Don't worry, I'm here to help you troubleshoot the issue. Here are some steps to help you delete emails in Windows Live Mail:

  1. Check if the email is selected: Make sure the email you want to delete is selected by clicking on it. If it's not selected, click on the email to select it.
  2. Right-click and delete: Right-click on the selected email and choose "Delete" from the context menu. This should delete the email permanently.
  3. Use the "Delete" button: Look for the "Delete" button in the toolbar above the email list. Click on this button to delete the selected email.
  4. Check for any filters or rules: If you have any filters or rules set up in Windows Live Mail, they might be preventing you from deleting the email. Check your filters and rules to see if there's one that's blocking the deletion.
  5. Try deleting in bulk: If you're trying to delete multiple emails, try selecting all the emails you want to delete and then right-clicking on one of them and choosing "Delete".
  6. Check for any add-ins or plugins: Some add-ins or plugins might be interfering with the deletion process. Try disabling any add-ins or plugins you have installed and see if that resolves the issue.
  7. Reset Windows Live Mail: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting Windows Live Mail to its default settings. To do this, go to Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > Windows Live Essentials > Uninstall. Then, reinstall Windows Live Mail from the Microsoft website.
  8. Check for any corrupted files: If none of the above steps work, it's possible that there's a corrupted file preventing you from deleting the email. Try checking for any corrupted files by going to Start > Run > type %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail and press Enter. Look for any files with a.dbx extension and delete them. Then, restart Windows Live Mail and try deleting the email again.

If none of these steps work, you can try contacting Microsoft support for further assistance.
