In Windows Mail (which is the email client that comes with Windows Vista), you can change your password by following these steps:
- Open Windows Mail by clicking on the Start menu and selecting "Windows Mail".
- Click on the "Accounts" button in the top left corner of the window.
- Select the account for which you want to change the password.
- Click on the "Properties" button.
- In the "Account Properties" window, click on the "Security" tab.
- Click on the "Change" button next to "Password".
- Enter your current password, then enter and confirm your new password.
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
Alternatively, you can also change your password by following these steps:
- Open the Control Panel by clicking on the Start menu and selecting "Control Panel".
- Click on "User Accounts" and then click on "Manage another account".
- Select the account for which you want to change the password.
- Click on the "Change password" button.
- Enter your current password, then enter and confirm your new password.
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
Note that if you're using a Microsoft account (formerly known as a Windows Live ID), you'll need to change your password through the Microsoft account website or the Windows Live Mail client, rather than through Windows Mail.
