Can you renew scdl by mail
SCDL (Self-Certifying Document for Limited Company Directors) is a document that is used to confirm the identity and address of a director of a limited company. While it is possible to renew an SCDL, it is not possible to renew it by mail.
To renew an SCDL, you will need to submit a new application to Companies House, which is the UK's registrar of companies. You can do this online or by post.
Here are the steps to renew an SCDL by post:
- Download and complete the SCDL application form (Form 2888) from the Companies House website.
- Attach a copy of your identification document (such as a passport or driving licence) and proof of your address (such as a utility bill or bank statement).
- Sign the form and attach a certified copy of your signature.
- Send the completed form and supporting documents to Companies House at the following address:
Companies House Crown Way Cardiff CF14 3UZ
Please note that you will need to pay a fee for the renewal, which is currently £13.
Alternatively, you can renew your SCDL online through the Companies House website. This will require you to have a Companies House online account and to have your identification and address documents ready.
It's worth noting that if you are a director of a limited company, it is your responsibility to ensure that your SCDL is up to date and that you have a valid SCDL on file with Companies House. Failure to do so could result in penalties or even the strike-off of your company.
