Did king henry the 8th have any mail kids children
King Henry VIII had three children:
- Mary I (1516-1558), also known as Mary Tudor or Bloody Mary, who was the daughter of Henry VIII and his first wife, Catherine of Aragon. Mary became Queen of England and Ireland from 1553 to 1558.
- Elizabeth I (1533-1603), who was the daughter of Henry VIII and his second wife, Anne Boleyn. Elizabeth became Queen of England and Ireland from 1558 to 1603 and is often referred to as the "Virgin Queen".
- Edward VI (1537-1553), who was the son of Henry VIII and his third wife, Jane Seymour. Edward became King of England and Ireland from 1547 to 1553, but died at the age of 16.
Henry VIII did not have any male children who survived to adulthood. His three children were all daughters, which was a significant factor in the English Reformation and the succession crisis that followed his death.
It's worth noting that Henry VIII had several illegitimate children, including:
- Henry FitzRoy (1519-1536), who was the son of Henry VIII and his mistress, Elizabeth Blount. Henry FitzRoy was created Duke of Richmond and Somerset, but died at the age of 17.
- Catherine Carey (1524-1568), who was the daughter of Henry VIII and his mistress, Mary Boleyn (sister of Anne Boleyn). Catherine Carey married Sir Francis Knollys and had several children, including Lettice Knollys, who was the mother of Robert Devereux, 2nd Earl of Essex.
- Henry Carey (1526-1596), who was the son of Henry VIII and his mistress, Mary Boleyn. Henry Carey was created Baron Hunsdon and had several children.
These illegitimate children were not in the line of succession to the throne, but they did play important roles in English history.
