Does royal mail redelivery work
The frustration of missing a delivery!
Royal Mail's redelivery service is designed to help you receive your mail or parcel if you're not available to accept it on the initial delivery attempt. Here's how it works:
How to request a redelivery:
- Check your Royal Mail tracking information: You can track your parcel on Royal Mail's website or through their mobile app. If your parcel is showing as "out for delivery" or "delivered" but you haven't received it, you can request a redelivery.
- Contact Royal Mail: You can call Royal Mail's customer service number (03457 740 740) or visit their website to request a redelivery. You'll need to provide your tracking number and the reason for the redelivery request.
- Choose a redelivery option: Royal Mail offers two redelivery options:
- Redelivery to a different address: If you're not available to receive your parcel at the original address, you can request it to be delivered to a different address.
- Redelivery to a local post office: If you're unable to receive your parcel at home, you can request it to be held at a local post office for collection.
Redelivery fees:
- Redelivery to a different address: Free of charge (if the parcel is being redelivered to a UK address)
- Redelivery to a local post office: £1.50 (if the parcel is being held at a post office for collection)
Important notes:
- Redelivery requests must be made within 18 days of the original delivery attempt.
- If you're unable to receive your parcel at the redelivery address, it will be returned to Royal Mail and you may need to pay additional fees to have it re-delivered.
- Redelivery options may not be available for all types of mail or parcels, such as international shipments or items that require a signature on delivery.
Remember to always check your tracking information and contact Royal Mail if you have any issues with your delivery.
