Gmail check emails order

Gmail's default sorting order for emails is based on a combination of factors, including:

  1. Priority: Gmail uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the priority of each email. This takes into account factors such as the sender, the subject, and the content of the email.
  2. Date: Emails are sorted by the date they were received, with the most recent emails appearing at the top of the inbox.
  3. Thread: Gmail groups related emails together in a thread, with the most recent email in the thread appearing at the top.
  4. Label: Emails are sorted by label, with emails labeled as "Important" or "Unread" appearing at the top of the inbox.

However, you can customize the sorting order of your Gmail inbox by using filters and labels. Here are some ways to do so:

Method 1: Use filters

  1. Go to the Gmail settings (gear icon) and click on "Filters and Blocked Addresses".
  2. Click on "Create a new filter".
  3. Enter the criteria for the filter, such as "From: [sender's email]" or "Subject: [subject]".
  4. Choose the action you want to take, such as "Apply the label" or "Move to".
  5. Click "Create" to save the filter.

Method 2: Use labels

  1. Go to the Gmail settings (gear icon) and click on "Labels".
  2. Click on "New label" and enter a name for the label.
  3. Click "Create" to save the label.
  4. To apply the label to an email, click on the email and then click on the "Labels" button.
  5. Select the label you created and click "Apply".

Method 3: Use the "Priority Inbox" feature

  1. Go to the Gmail settings (gear icon) and click on "Inbox type".
  2. Select "Priority Inbox" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Gmail will then sort your emails based on their priority, with the most important emails appearing at the top of the inbox.

Method 4: Use the "Starred" feature

  1. Go to the Gmail settings (gear icon) and click on "Inbox type".
  2. Select "Starred" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Gmail will then sort your emails based on the number of stars they have, with the most starred emails appearing at the top of the inbox.
