The Gmail mail preview!
In Gmail, the mail preview is the preview pane that appears below the list of emails in your inbox. It allows you to quickly scan the content of an email without having to open it. Here's how to enable and customize the mail preview in Gmail:
Enabling the mail preview:
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the page.
- Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Scroll down to the "General" tab.
- Look for the "Preview" section and toggle the switch next to "Enable preview" to the "On" position.
- Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.
Customizing the mail preview:
- To change the width of the preview pane, hover your mouse over the separator between the inbox list and the preview pane.
- Click and drag the separator to adjust the width of the preview pane.
- To toggle the preview pane on and off, click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the preview pane and select "Toggle preview pane" from the dropdown menu.
Tips and tricks:
- You can also use the keyboard shortcut "p" to toggle the preview pane on and off.
- If you have a lot of emails in your inbox, you can use the "Load more" button at the bottom of the inbox list to load more emails and then use the preview pane to quickly scan their content.
- You can also use the "Quick links" feature in the preview pane to quickly jump to a specific part of the email, such as the sender's name or the subject line.
