Gmail outlook 2010 pop3
A classic combination!
To set up Gmail to work with Outlook 2010 using POP3, follow these steps:
Step 1: Enable POP3 in Gmail
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."
- Go to the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.
- Select the "Enable POP" option.
- Choose whether you want to allow POP access for all users or just yourself.
- Click "Save Changes."
Step 2: Set up Outlook 2010 to use POP3
- Open Outlook 2010 and go to "File" > "Account Settings" > "Account Settings" (again).
- Click on "New" to add a new email account.
- Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click "Next."
- Choose "POP3" as the account type and click "Next."
- Enter the following settings:
- Your Name: Your name as you want it to appear in the From field.
- Email Address: Your Gmail address.
- POP3 Server: pop.gmail.com
- Port: 995
- Username: Your Gmail address.
- Password: Your Gmail password.
- Click "Next" and then "Finish" to complete the setup.
Step 3: Configure Outlook 2010 to download emails
- Go to "File" > "Account Settings" > "Account Settings" (again).
- Select your Gmail account and click "Change."
- Under "More Settings," click on the "Advanced" tab.
- Under "Delivery," select the "Leave a copy of messages on the server" option.
- Choose how many days you want to keep the emails on the server.
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
That's it! Your Gmail account should now be set up to work with Outlook 2010 using POP3.
