Gmail outlook setting imap

To set up Gmail or Outlook to use IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol), you'll need to follow these steps:

Gmail IMAP Settings:

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."
  3. Go to the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.
  4. Scroll down to the "IMAP Access" section and toggle the switch to "Enable IMAP."
  5. Click "Save Changes."

Outlook IMAP Settings:

  1. Open Outlook and go to the "File" menu.
  2. Click on "Account Settings" and then select "Manage Profiles."
  3. Select the profile you want to use and click "Properties."
  4. Go to the "Advanced" tab.
  5. Under "Server Information," select "IMAP" as the server type.
  6. Enter the following settings:
    • Server: imap.gmail.com (for Gmail) or imap.outlook.com (for Outlook)
    • Port: 993
    • Encryption: SSL/TLS
  7. Click "OK" to save the changes.

IMAP Settings for Both Gmail and Outlook:

  1. In your email client (e.g., Outlook, Thunderbird), go to the "Account Settings" or "Properties" window.
  2. Select the "IMAP" account type.
  3. Enter the following settings:
