Hotmail settings in outlook
To set up Hotmail in Outlook, you'll need to follow these steps:
Method 1: Add Hotmail account to Outlook using IMAP
- Open Outlook and go to File > Add Account.
- Select Manual setup or additional server types and click Next.
- Choose Internet Email and click Next.
- Enter your Hotmail email address and password, and click Next.
- Select IMAP as the account type and enter the following settings:
- Incoming mail server: imap-mail.outlook.com
- Outgoing mail server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
- Username: your Hotmail email address
- Password: your Hotmail password
- Click Next and then Finish.
Method 2: Add Hotmail account to Outlook using POP
- Open Outlook and go to File > Add Account.
- Select Manual setup or additional server types and click Next.
- Choose Internet Email and click Next.
- Enter your Hotmail email address and password, and click Next.
- Select POP as the account type and enter the following settings:
- Incoming mail server: pop-mail.outlook.com
- Outgoing mail server: smtp-mail.outlook.com

- Password: your Hotmail password
- Click Next and then Finish.
Additional settings
- Port numbers:
- IMAP: 993 (Incoming) and 587 (Outgoing)
- POP: 995 (Incoming) and 587 (Outgoing)
- Authentication: Select Basic Authentication or OAuth 2.0 depending on your Hotmail account settings.
- SSL/TLS: Select TLS or SSL depending on your Hotmail account settings.
