How to add gmail email account to mac mail
To add a Gmail email account to Mac Mail, follow these steps:
- Open Mac Mail on your Mac.
- Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences" from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the "Accounts" tab.
- Click on the "+" button at the bottom left corner of the window.
- Select "Other Mail Account" from the list of options.
- Enter your name and email address in the required fields.
- Enter your Gmail password in the "Password" field.
- Click on the "Continue" button.
- Mac Mail will attempt to configure your account. If prompted, enter your Gmail password again to verify.
- Once the account is configured, you can select the account from the list of accounts on the left side of the Mac Mail window.
Alternatively, you can also add a Gmail account to Mac Mail by following these steps:
- Open Mac Mail on your Mac.
- Click on "File" in the top menu bar and select "Add Account" from the drop-down menu.
- Select "Other Mail Account" from the list of options.
- Enter your name and email address in the required fields.
- Enter your Gmail password in the "Password" field.
- Click on the "Create" button.
- Mac Mail will attempt to configure your account. If prompted, enter your Gmail password again to verify.
- Once the account is configured, you can select the account from the list of accounts on the left side of the Mac Mail window.
Note: Make sure that you have enabled IMAP or POP3 access in your Gmail account settings before adding it to Mac Mail. You can do this by following these steps:
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon in the top right corner of the window.
- Select "See all settings" from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.
- Select the "Enable IMAP" or "Enable POP" option, depending on your preference.
- Click on the "Save Changes" button.
