How to block a contact on mail

To block a contact on Gmail, follow these steps:

Method 1: Block a contact from the contact list

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner of the page.
  3. Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
  4. Scroll down to the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab.
  5. Click on "Create a new filter".
  6. Enter the email address of the contact you want to block in the "From" field.
  7. Click on the "Create" button.
  8. In the "Apply the label" dropdown menu, select "Block".
  9. Click on the "Create" button again.

Method 2: Block a contact from a specific email

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Open the email from the contact you want to block.
  3. Click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the email.
  4. Select "Block [Contact's Name]" from the dropdown menu.
  5. Confirm that you want to block the contact by clicking on "Block" in the pop-up window.

Method 3: Block a contact from the chat window

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Open the chat window with the contact you want to block.
  3. Click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the chat window.
  4. Select "Block [Contact's Name]" from the dropdown menu.
  5. Confirm that you want to block the contact by clicking on "Block" in the pop-up window.

Once you block a contact, you will no longer receive emails from them, and they will not be able to contact you through Gmail. Note that blocking a contact does not delete their email address or any emails they have sent you.
