How to block a contact on mail
To block a contact on Gmail, follow these steps:
Method 1: Block a contact from the contact list
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner of the page.
- Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Scroll down to the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab.
- Click on "Create a new filter".
- Enter the email address of the contact you want to block in the "From" field.
- Click on the "Create" button.
- In the "Apply the label" dropdown menu, select "Block".
- Click on the "Create" button again.
Method 2: Block a contact from a specific email
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Open the email from the contact you want to block.
- Click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the email.
- Select "Block [Contact's Name]" from the dropdown menu.
- Confirm that you want to block the contact by clicking on "Block" in the pop-up window.
Method 3: Block a contact from the chat window
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Open the chat window with the contact you want to block.
- Click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the chat window.
- Select "Block [Contact's Name]" from the dropdown menu.
- Confirm that you want to block the contact by clicking on "Block" in the pop-up window.
Once you block a contact, you will no longer receive emails from them, and they will not be able to contact you through Gmail. Note that blocking a contact does not delete their email address or any emails they have sent you.
