How to block senders in hotmail

To block senders in Hotmail (now known as Outlook.com), you can follow these steps:

Method 1: Block a sender using the "Junk" folder

  1. Log in to your Hotmail account.
  2. Go to the "Junk" folder.
  3. Open an email from the sender you want to block.
  4. Click on the "Junk" button at the top of the email.
  5. Click on "Block this sender" from the dropdown menu.
  6. Confirm that you want to block the sender by clicking "Block" in the pop-up window.

Method 2: Block a sender using the "Settings"

  1. Log in to your Hotmail account.
  2. Click on the gear icon () at the top right corner of the page.
  3. Click on "View all Outlook settings".
  4. Scroll down to the "Mail" section.
  5. Click on "Filters and blocking".
  6. Click on "Blocked senders".

Method 3: Block a sender using the "Report spam" feature

  1. Log in to your Hotmail account.
  2. Open an email from the sender you want to block.
  3. Click on the "Report spam" button at the top of the email.
  4. Confirm that you want to report the email as spam.
  5. Click "Block this sender" from the dropdown menu.

Once you block a sender, any future emails from that sender will be automatically moved to your "Junk" folder. You can also add senders to your "Safe senders" list to ensure that emails from those senders are not marked as spam.

Note: Blocking a sender does not guarantee that you will never receive an email from that sender again. Some spammers may use different email addresses or tactics to try to reach you.
