How to change default font in live mail

To change the default font in Windows Live Mail, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open Windows Live Mail and go to the "View" menu.
  2. Click on "Layout" and then select "Fonts" from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the "Fonts" window, select the font you want to use as the default font from the "Font" dropdown menu.
  4. You can also adjust the font size by using the "Size" dropdown menu.
  5. Click "OK" to apply the changes.

Alternatively, you can also change the default font by modifying the Windows Live Mail settings file. To do this:

  1. Close Windows Live Mail.
  2. Go to the following location: %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows Live\Mail\settings.dat
  3. Open the settings.dat file in a text editor such as Notepad.
  4. Search for the following line: FontName
  5. Replace the current font name with the one you want to use as the default font.
  6. Save the changes to the file.
  7. Restart Windows Live Mail to apply the changes.

Note: %appdata% is a system environment variable that points to the location of the user's application data folder. You can also find it by going to the "File" menu in Windows Explorer, selecting "Properties" from the context menu, and then clicking on the "Settings" button next to "Location".

Also, you can change the default font for a specific account or for all accounts by modifying the settings.dat file for that account. To do this, follow the same steps as above, but instead of modifying the settings.dat file in the %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows Live\Mail folder, modify the settings.dat file in the %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows Live\Mail\<account_name> folder, where <account_name> is the name of the account you want to modify.
