How to change email address on mail
To change your email address on Mail (the default email app on Macs), follow these steps:
Method 1: Change Email Address from Mail Preferences
- Open Mail on your Mac.
- Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command + comma).
- Click on the "Accounts" tab.
- Select your email account from the list of accounts on the left side of the window.
- Click on the "Edit" button next to your email address.
- Enter your new email address in the "Email Address" field.
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
Method 2: Change Email Address from Account Settings
- Open Mail on your Mac.
- Click on the "Mail" menu in the top menu bar and select "Account Settings" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command + comma).
- Select your email account from the list of accounts on the left side of the window.
- Click on the "Account Information" tab.
- Click on the "Edit" button next to your email address.
- Enter your new email address in the "Email Address" field.
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
Method 3: Change Email Address from iCloud Settings
If you're using iCloud to store your email account settings, you can also change your email address from the iCloud settings:
- Open System Preferences on your Mac.
- Click on "iCloud".
- Click on the "Mail" tab.
- Select your email account from the list of accounts.
- Click on the "Edit" button next to your email address.
- Enter your new email address in the "Email Address" field.
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
After changing your email address, you may need to re-enter your account settings, such as your password or two-factor authentication code, to verify your new email address.
Note: If you're using a third-party email service, such as Gmail or Outlook, you may need to update your email address settings on their website or app as well.
