How to change iphone mail swipe to delete

By default, swiping left on an email on your iPhone deletes it. However, if you're finding that swiping left is not deleting emails for you, or if you want to change the behavior, you can follow these steps:

Method 1: Change the swipe gesture in Settings

  1. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  2. Tap on "Swipe Options".
  3. Under "Swipe Left", select "Mark as Read" or "Move to Junk" (or choose another option from the list).
  4. Under "Swipe Right", select "Mark as Unread" or "Move to Inbox" (or choose another option from the list).

Method 2: Change the swipe gesture in the Mail app

  1. Open the Mail app.
  2. Tap on the "Edit" button in the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. Tap on "Swipe Actions".
  4. Tap on the swipe gesture you want to change (e.g., "Left").
  5. Select a new action from the list (e.g., "Delete").
  6. Tap "Done" to save your changes.

Method 3: Use a third-party email client

If you're not satisfied with the default Mail app, you can try using a third-party email client like Spark, Microsoft Outlook, or Airmail, which often offer more customization options for swipe gestures.

Remember that these methods may not work if you're using a third-party email client or if your email account has specific settings that override the default swipe behavior.
