How to create mail id in nic
To create a mail ID in NIC (National Informatics Centre), you need to follow these steps:
Step 1: Check if your domain is registered with NIC
Before creating a mail ID, ensure that your domain is registered with NIC. You can check the domain registration status on the NIC website.
Step 2: Log in to NIC's Webmail
Go to the NIC Webmail website (www.webmail.nic.in) and log in using your existing credentials (username and password).
Step 3: Click on "Create New Mail ID"
Once logged in, click on the "Create New Mail ID" button on the top right corner of the page.
Step 4: Fill in the required details
Fill in the required details, including:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email ID (choose a unique and valid email ID)
- Password (create a strong and unique password)
- Confirm Password
- Domain (select your registered domain from the dropdown list)
Step 5: Verify your email ID
After submitting the form, you will receive an email at the email ID you created. Verify your email ID by clicking on the verification link sent to you.
Step 6: Set up your email account
Once verified, you can set up your email account by configuring your email client (e.g., Outlook, Gmail, etc.) using the following settings:
- Server: webmail.nic.in
- Port: 587 (for SMTP) and 993 (for IMAP)
- Username: your email ID
- Password: the password you created
Step 7: Start using your new mail ID
You can now start using your new mail ID to send and receive emails.
