  2. Go to the "Home" tab in the ribbon.
  3. Click on the "Number" button in the "Number" group.
  4. Select "Currency" from the drop-down menu.
  5. In the "Currency" format dialog box, select the currency symbol you want to use (e.g., $).
  6. Click "OK" to apply the format.

Method 2: Using the Symbol dialog box

  1. In your mail merge document, place your cursor where you want to insert the dollar sign.
  2. Go to the "Insert" tab in the ribbon.
  3. Click on the "Symbol" button in the "Symbols" group.

  6. Click "Insert" to insert the symbol into your document.

Method 3: Using a field code

  1. In your mail merge document, place your cursor where you want to insert the dollar sign.
  2. Type & (ampersand) followed by the field code CURRENCY (without quotes).
  3. For example: &CURRENCY
  4. Press Enter to apply the field code.

The CURRENCY field code will automatically format the value that follows it as a currency value, including the dollar sign.

Note: Make sure to use the correct syntax and formatting for the field code, as it may vary depending on your specific mail merge requirements.
