How to get my credit report by mail
You can request a free credit report by mail from each of the three major credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion) once every 12 months. Here's how:
- Visit AnnualCreditReport.com: Go to the official website of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and click on "Request Your Free Credit Report" to access the online request form.
- Fill out the request form: Fill out the online request form with your personal information, including your name, address, Social Security number, and date of birth.
- Choose the reporting agency: Select the credit reporting agency you want to request a report from (Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion).
- Print and sign the form: Print the completed form and sign it.
- Mail the form: Mail the signed form to the address listed on the form. Make sure to use certified mail with return receipt requested to ensure your request is received.
