How to make mail from gmail open in new page

By default, Gmail links open in the same tab or window. However, you can configure Gmail to open links in a new tab or page. Here are a few ways to do it:

Method 1: Using the Gmail settings

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner of the page.
  3. Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
  4. Scroll down to the "General" tab.
  5. Look for the "Open links in a new tab" option and toggle the switch to the "On" position.
  6. Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.

Method 2: Using a browser extension

  1. Install a browser extension like "Open in New Tab" or "New Tab" for your browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
  2. Once installed, enable the extension by clicking on the icon in the browser toolbar.
  3. When you click on a link in Gmail, the extension should open the link in a new tab.

Method 3: Using a keyboard shortcut

  1. Press the "Ctrl" key (Windows) or "Command" key (Mac) while clicking on a link in Gmail.
  2. This will open the link in a new tab.

Method 4: Using a browser setting

  1. For Chrome:
    • Go to chrome://settings/
    • Scroll down to the "Advanced" section.
    • Click on "Open links from other programs in" and select "New tab".
  2. For Firefox:
    • Go to about:preferences#general
    • Scroll down to the "Tabs" section.
    • Check the box next to "Open links in new tabs instead of replacing the current page".
  3. For Safari:
    • Go to Safari > Preferences > Advanced
    • Check the box next to "Open links from other programs in new tabs".

After enabling one of these methods, links in Gmail should open in a new tab or page.
