How to make mail from gmail open in new page
By default, Gmail links open in the same tab or window. However, you can configure Gmail to open links in a new tab or page. Here are a few ways to do it:
Method 1: Using the Gmail settings
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner of the page.
- Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Scroll down to the "General" tab.
- Look for the "Open links in a new tab" option and toggle the switch to the "On" position.
- Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.
Method 2: Using a browser extension
- Install a browser extension like "Open in New Tab" or "New Tab" for your browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
- Once installed, enable the extension by clicking on the icon in the browser toolbar.
- When you click on a link in Gmail, the extension should open the link in a new tab.
Method 3: Using a keyboard shortcut
- Press the "Ctrl" key (Windows) or "Command" key (Mac) while clicking on a link in Gmail.
- This will open the link in a new tab.
Method 4: Using a browser setting
- For Chrome:
- Go to chrome://settings/
- Scroll down to the "Advanced" section.
- Click on "Open links from other programs in" and select "New tab".
- For Firefox:
- Go to about:preferences#general
- Scroll down to the "Tabs" section.
- Check the box next to "Open links in new tabs instead of replacing the current page".
- For Safari:
- Go to Safari > Preferences > Advanced
- Check the box next to "Open links from other programs in new tabs".
After enabling one of these methods, links in Gmail should open in a new tab or page.
