How to open attachments in mac mail
To open attachments in Mac Mail, you can follow these steps:
- Open Mac Mail and select the email message that contains the attachment you want to open.
- Click on the attachment to select it. You can also right-click (or control-click) on the attachment and select "Open" from the context menu.
- If the attachment is a file, such as a document or image, it will open in the default application associated with that file type. For example, if the attachment is a PDF file, it will open in Preview.
- If the attachment is a multimedia file, such as a video or audio file, it will open in the default application associated with that file type. For example, if the attachment is a video file, it will open in QuickTime Player.
- If you want to save the attachment to your computer instead of opening it, you can click on the "Save" button in the top-right corner of the attachment preview window.
Alternatively, you can also use the following keyboard shortcuts to open attachments:
- Command (⌘) + Click on the attachment: This will open the attachment in the default application associated with that file type.
- Command (⌘) + Shift + Click on the attachment: This will save the attachment to your computer.
Note: If you are using Mac Mail with a Microsoft Exchange account, you may need to enable the "Allow attachments to be opened" option in your account settings to be able to open attachments.
