The Great American Mail Race! It's a fun and unique game that combines elements of strategy, luck, and postal history. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to play:
Number of Players:
2-4 players can play the Great American Mail Race.
Objective:
The objective of the game is to deliver mailbags from one city to another across the United States, while navigating through various challenges and obstacles.
Components:
- Game board featuring a map of the United States
- 28 Mailbags with different point values and destinations
- 16 Challenge cards
- 4 Player tokens and matching Player boards
- 1 Die (six-sided)
- 1 Scorepad
Setup:
- Place the game board in the middle of the playing area.
- Shuffle the Challenge cards and place them face down on designated spaces on the board.
- Each player chooses a token and places it on the starting space on the board.
- Each player receives a Player board and a set of Mailbags.
- Determine who goes first by rolling the die. The player with the highest number goes first.
Gameplay:
- On each player's turn, they roll the die to determine how many spaces they can move their token.
- The player can move their token to any unoccupied space on the board that is the same number of spaces ahead as the number on the die.
- If a player lands on a space with a Challenge card, they draw the top card from the deck and resolve the challenge. Challenges may require players to pay a fine, lose a turn, or complete a task.
- If a player lands on a space with a Mailbag, they can pick it up and add it to their collection.
- Players can only carry a maximum of three Mailbags at a time. If they pick up a new Mailbag, they must discard one of their existing Mailbags.
- When a player reaches a city on the board, they can deliver the Mailbags they are carrying to the corresponding Mailbag space on their Player board.
- Each Mailbag has a point value, and players earn points for delivering Mailbags to their destinations.
- The game ends when all players have delivered all their Mailbags or when the Challenge deck runs out of cards.
- The player with the most points, earned from delivering Mailbags, wins the game.
